Tony’s Take: πππ Sixteen years ago, I bought a pre-owned 30k mile C5 Corvette Z06 for $29k ($42,754 in today’s money). That car – the first I sold as a dealer – still hammers for $29k. In fact, the Corvette C5 Z06 has been a $20k+ car for 20 years running. That, my friends, is a bargain. Pound-for-pound, the LS6-engined Z06 is one of the best pre-owned OMG fast cars money can buy. This six-speed manual 2003 example is an excellent example of the breed. Keep in mind: the C5 Z06 is coming up on its 25-year birthday. Unless the economy tanks, prices will rise. Downside: an extensive aftermarket stereo (original head unit and door speakers comes with the car) and only Corvette people will recognize Chevy’s top-end two-seater.
