Tony’s Take: πŸ‘πŸ‘ Hunting a late ’50’s or early ’60’s Corvette? Choose from original, slightly modded or fully modded. A ‘Vette that’s original in all respects – matching numbers, verifiable provenance – commands a significant premium. Slightly modded cars are an abomination (i.e., less expensive). Well-sorted, fully modded cars – new engines and brakes, fresh paint and upholstery, air conditioning, etc. – are more expensive and a better investment than the real deal. (I’ll explain later.) Meanwhile, this four-speed ‘Vette’s a rare bird (664 produced) with the sought after “pipes in the fenders” design, suitable for a proper restoration or a balls-out modification – depending on the hammer price. Downside: “total miles unknown” is a bright red flag.
