1995 Ferrari Euro F355 Berlinetta 6-Speed

Tony’s Take: The Ferrari F355 is a legendary car – for good reason. It’s easily one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made by hand of man. More than that, the 355’s high-revving flat plane crank eight propels the car with conviction and OMG what a soundtrack! The engine note is singularly, spectacularly symphonic.

To say that the Ferrari F355 is desirable goes without saying; you can almost hear Linda Rondstadt singing Just One Look. Collectible? Oh yeah it’s collectible.

Some buyers are put off by the engine-out timing belt change situation (rectified in the F360). They shouldn’t be. Thanks to more modern belts, you’re looking at a three to five year service interval. Would you begrudge a drop-dead gorgeous significant other an expensive spa day? No you wouldn’t. Nor should you.

U.S. vs. Euro Spec F355

This car is European spec. Again, what are you complaining about?

Yes, Euro F355’s have often been priced lower than their US counterparts. However, several key factors are reshaping the market dynamics. I anticipate a change in the pricing landscape; get ’em while they’re not red hot!

Since you’re here, let’s compare the two specs so you can get on with the business of taking this baby home.

Aesthetic Differences

  • Euro models feature clear front running lights, enhancing the overall visual appeal compared to U.S. models’ amber-colored front running lights
  • Euro F355 models have small, round blinker lights on the front fenders. U.S. models have larger, rectangular blinker lights integrated into the front bumpers
  • Euro models often come with a non-airbag steering wheel, adding a Devil-make-care retro-cool factor to the overall design

Pricing Factors

As buyers continue to recognize the inherent beauty and appeal of Euro models, we can anticipate a shift in perception and pricing that aligns more closely with their visual superiority.

  • Dealer-to-Dealer Auctions: Euro F355 models often sell for lower prices in these auctions, limiting their market potential
  • Federalization: Euro cars were modified for the US market. After 25 years, these restrictions no longer apply, allowing Euro models to be bought and sold in their original, unmodified form
  • Increasing Demand and Availability: The high demand for exotic cars and changing market dynamics have made Euro F355 models more accessible, leading to a shift in their pricing

What Are You Waiting For?

You can wait to buy a U.S. spec F355B, but that would be wrong. As always the key factors for buying the F355 – or any Ferrari – remain the same. This one checks the boxes: color (Rosso Corsa FTW), mileage (37k), service history (done but yes due) and condition (needs cosmetic work but who doesn’t?).

The cost of a 355 has come down from those heady Pandemic prices. Right now, a Euro spec F355B is a bargain. Your “discount” pays to bring her back to perfection and this Ferarri’s future is so bright I’m wearing shades.
