Buy Now! Top 3 Ferrari Investments

In 2019 and 2020, Ferrari was named the world’s most valuable brand. While Apple captured the title in the last two years, the prancing horse still stomps on the competition in the car collector community. So it’s no surprise that people are constantly asking me which Ferrari they should buy as an investment. I’m tempted to keep my answer on the DL. I’m setting up a fractional ownership fund and I don’t want to start a stampede. But I didn’t get where I am by hiding my light under a bushel. So . . .

Here are the three best Ferrari models to buy now if you want to make money. Which you pretty much have if you want to defray the considerable costs of ownership: storage, insurance, maintenance, repair/upgrade and the more miles = less value equation. Always buy the best quality Ferrari you can find/afford (article coming soon) and have an independent professional inspect it.

  1. You forgot the 348 Spider! Just over 1000 made…..rarer than the F40 lol.

Also, how accurate are those numbers on the 355? If the F1 transmission is that rare, it might be worth taking a look at. Here are the production numbers that I’ve always been told:

    F355 355F1 Total
    (Manual) (Paddles)
    ’94-’99 ’98-’99

    Berlinetta 3,829 1,042 4,871
    Spider 2,690 1,127 3,817
    GTS 2,048 529 2,577

    Total 8,567 2,698 11,265

    1. The 348 has an article coming all on its own. One of my all time favorites and the one model I bought most.
Yea, I found a source with prod #’s, but I want to compare and update today. That’s that 2am research typing.

      1. The 94 challenge factory built maybe the most valuable….first in the series Many had street DOT VIN numbers for street use and very limited in production that were factory builds …not kits…..

      2. I’ve seen different numbers on 348 spider production. Specifically 1090 and 1146 are the two numbers floating out there. I think that there were about 50 challenge cars built and 100 series speciale cars built (although I also hear 115).

  2. Based on nothing more than boyhood dreams and a sense of impending doom about ICE cars in general I think 12 cyl cars are going to do well and the F40 is undervalued currently. Based on demographics alone I would go long on F40s until Xers start dying, much like the 60s muscle and pony cars have probably already peaked now that Boomers are finally starting to shuffle off.
